Waterbeach Baptist Church
Waterbeach Baptist Church was founded in 1826 as a Particular Baptist cause. It is now affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB) and is a member of the Eastern Baptist Association (EBA). We meet in Spurgeon’s Chapel which was built in 1863. The church has strong links with Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the famous Victorian ‘Prince of Preachers', who was its Pastor from October 1851 to April 1854, and who laid one of the foundation stones of the present chapel. The village of Waterbeach lies about 5 miles north of Cambridge close to the A10, the main link between Cambridge and King’s Lynn.
